How can I schedule exams?

The Call Center of the Medical Diagnostic Imaging Unit can be contacted at 2545-4002, from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 6 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 7 am to 7 pm. Special heart tests are scheduled by calling 2545-4074, from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. What should I take with me for hospital admission?

HSL provides hospital clothes for the patient to use during hospitalization; however, if it is his or her preference, the patient can choose his or her own nightgowns and pajamas for the occasion, in addition to personal items, such as slippers. The rooms have safes to store personal belongings, but the hospital is not responsible for objects left or forgotten in the room. Valuable items should not be brought.

Which health insurances are covered by HSL?

The hospital covers several health plans and insurances. Click for the complete list.

What documents are required for hospital admission?

At the time of hospitalization, the patient must bring his or her ID card, health plan or insurance card, the doctor’s request for hospitalization and the Hospitalization Guide (authorized health insurance form).

What imaging exams can I do at HSL?

Some of the imaging scans available at the hospital are CT scan, MRI, hemodynamics (cineangiocardiography, electrophysiological study, ablation and interventional radiology), radiology, echocardiography and ultrasound. See the complete list on the page for the main services of the Diagnostics Center.

What are the visiting hours for patients?

Rooms and wards: 8am to 9pm

Intensive Care Unit (ICU):

•         Mezzanine: 1pm to 2pm

•         1st and 2nd floors: 3:30pm to 4:3 pm

•         4th floor: 3pm to 4pm

Intensive Cardiac Unit (ICU): 1:30 pm to 2:30pm

Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU): 3pm to 5pm

Semi-intensive Care Unit (SICU): 8am to 9pm

For safety reasons, the hospital allows only two visitors at a time, and children under 12 years old are not allowed in the closed units (ICU, SICU and IMCU). In these sectors, the entry of food and clothing is prohibited, and it is possible to bring only personal hygiene items (soaps, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb and shampoo, among other similar items).

In the other sectors, the visit of children under 12 years old will only be allowed with the presence of the legal guardian between 10 am and 11 am.

Can I accompany my family member?

Accompanying persons from closed units (ICU, SICU and IMCU) are not allowed; however, in private rooms, the possibility of accompanying the patient will depend on the health insurance plan. If it offers this convenience, only one companion can stay overnight in the room. The overnight stay includes bed/bath linen and breakfast.

If the companion’s daily rate is not covered by the health insurance plan, a fee will be charged after the patient’s discharge.
